Halloween 2007

October 28th, 2007 No comments

I don’t think I got any pictures of my costume. Someone does, I’m pretty sure.

Halloween (observed) was meh. Went to a former shitholer’s party. Which was, well, a party. A bunch of people I didn’t know and a few people I see regularly. I actually told the hostess that next Halloween I wasn’t planning on going to any parties, just bar hop downtown.

Then I went downtown.

LAME. Like, pathetic. I know it’s not actually Halloween, but downtown was almost empty and a small fraction of people were costumed.

Sucked.

Next year I need a crew. 3-4 other guys so we can have a full SWAT team. I’ve already got one volunteer, but I think he’d make a better cheesy narc.

New new job

October 4th, 2007 No comments

I wasn’t looking for a new job, mind you. Two of my classmates at PCC work for a building downtown. The company that manages the building just got the contract for another building downtown. One of them and their boss got shuffled over there, with openings in either building.

They pretty much talked him into hiring me before they called me.

I had my interview on my 90th day.

Oops.

Anyhoo I gave notice today. The 22nd I have a new job. Downtown. It’s more money but the insurance at this place is costly so it won’t amount to much. Unless I can talk them into giving me a bus pass and keeping their free parking spot. That would rule.

I was conflicted, because I’m ditching them as the Christmas season ramps up. The odds of them getting anyone in before then is pretty slim. But this opportunity is too good to pass up. New place does everything in house, the old place farms out everything I learned in school. In a matter of months I could be living and working downtown. Which is the dream.

And I know the people who work there.

Should rock.
