Gah!

Kitchens really suck. I’d forgotten that. Or maybe it’s just that kitchen. There were four dishwashers on last night and there were stretches where all of us were going like mad. And Mondays are slow, apparently.

But I don’t mind being really busy for hours on end. I do mind handling 180 degree plates. The last dishwashing machine I worked with was a different type that didn’t have to run so hot. I do mind excessively slippery floors (that’s what mats are for, people, put one there).

I’m going to keep looking, try to find a place that’s not insanely busy.

On the plus side, the night dishwashers don’t have to clean the kitchen, just the dish area.

Retraining is definitely the option now. Kitchens? No.

They hired me.

I start Monday.

Getting home from downtown to Lents at 3am is going to be interesting.

Busy, busy, busy

Busy for my lazy self, anyway.

I’m in the process of moving back to Mom’s house, since I’m unemployed and all. The past few days Mom (who is on vacation) and I have been moving little stuff back in advance of the Big Day next Saturday. So I’ve got to do more of that today.

But first I need to go to the gym. After I deposit my latest dole check and turn in the timesheet from the temp gig I have right now (which is getting Wildwood caught up on their banquet orders and maybe helping them streamline their process a bit).

But I also have an interview. On Monday I applied at Henry’s Tavern for a dishwasher position. Last night I got a call from the sous chef at Portland City Grill, which is owned by the same company. So at 3pm I’m going to talk to him about their dishwasher opening.

At 4pm I’m supposed to be at Wildwood.

So, busy.

Mmm, Twizzlers….

Cold Stone Creamery’s red licorice ice cream (which tastes more like Twizzlers than Red Vines), is really yummy.

But I won’t EVER have to eat it again.
